1927 Dodge Brothers Business Coupe
Michael J. Lefebvre's 1927 Dodge Brothers Business Coupe
My name is Michael J. Lefebvre I live in Cucamonga Ca., about four years ago or so I bought a 1927 Dodge Brothers Businesses Coupe. I trailered it home and after some careful attention I was able to start her up and make my maiden voyage in her. This was only around the block (for obvious reasons).
This "machine" (as refereed to in the owners operational booklet) has been a real joy to own and operate. I would like to bring it as close to original as possible. However I am missing a few parts, and some information. I was lucky enough to find your web site. Which has excited me in hopes of making new friends, and contacts whom also share the love of their old Dodge Brothers machines. I was fortunate enough to acquire with my purchase of this fine machine the Owners Operational Instruction Book, The Mechanics Operational Instruction Book, and several copies of what appear to be charcoal sketches for advertising or sales brochures. I am inclined to feel that the best of the literature which I received with this machine is to be the Dodge Brothers Master Parts Book (souvenir edition) dated I believe July 17th 1927 , along with a few advertisements out of old magazines. All the tags and labels are intact on the machine, including the original dealers tag from where it was
first purchased. I have even found the inspectors tag from March of 1926 in the seat back. I have both of the vacuum feed tanks. Presently I am running the smaller of the two, while restoring the larger one. This is as you may already know a 6 volt positive ground system. I keep it that way any wire which I need to replace I do with cloth insulated wire. I do have a few extra parts, and some which came with the machine but are not exactly for it (wrong years or what not). If any of the information which I have would be of help to you or anyone you know please feel free to contact me.
