I know that I'm going to get some flack on this but I really need to know how to change the HEAD LIGHT bulb on a 1917 DB head light. The biggest problem is getting to it. I have tried to unscrew the outer rim with no success. How do I get to the bulb?

I got the engine back together and all is well. Thanks for all the help.

From the front of the car push in evenly on the rim and turn to the left about 1 1/2 inches.

DB headlight rims are notorious for cracking and distorting, so this process is sometimes difficult. You do have to get the rim to push in about 1/4" to clear the retaining "hooks" on the body, and then turn them about 1/8 of a turn, they should then lift forward with the glass lens coming with them. Be careful, as if the lens retaining clips are bad, the lens could fall out and drop. . . .OUCH!
When you have the rims replated, all those cracks have to be silver-brazed, and the distortion taken out, it's quite a time-consuming process, but well-worth it afterwards!
