turns very slow with any battery or even when jump starting off my truck, never had running before.having never owned or worked on any old car can you tell me this? should this big 12 volt starter/generator turn over like any normal vehicle ? or is it supposed to turn very very slowly ?

It won't spin like a modern car but will turn over at a good clip. Starter/generator sounds weak. Mine was like that, barely charged too. Having to remove the vacuum line indicates the float is sunk or stuck in your vacuum tank. It is sucking fuel directly into the intake.

Buy a mechanics instruction manual from Meyer early dodge, a member here
and start there needs spark gas and air and hope timing not off.
