I purchased a 1926 Dodge Brothers Touring Convertible at the Mecum Auction, VIN A463064 (photo attached). I've only driven it a few times but I have trouble shifting into 1st gear or into any other gear without gear grind. Are there further clutch adjustments needed? Do I need to press the clutch and hold it before I shift? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks, and have a good day.

Go to the search area at the upper right corner. Click it then type in "grinding gears". You will be taken to a number of posts on this subject --- will find almost as many comments on grinding gears as if you did a search on whether to use detergent or non-detergent oil in your DB.
