Does there exist a comprehensive step-by-step guide on adjusting the service (external) brakes on a 1924 DB Phaeton? I think I need to start over... I have pedal but NO stopping effort. The pads appear to be all there and quite thick from the edge but something is not right. Any printed material or video resource is greatly appreciated. Jamie in AZ

Dykes Encyclopedia, (available here under Garage/information) probably has detailed instructions but they might be hard to find. The "Mechanic's Instruction Manual", (available from Myers and Romar). is a "must have" for anyone who owns a DB. There are, (I think), three adjustments on each wheel which should be done in the proper sequence. When the brakes are applied, the equalizer link should be closely parallel to the axles and the long rod from the brake pedal should be 90* to the lever arms on the axle and the brake pedal.
