I have a 1916 Dodge touring car, that has been in the family for over 40 years. These two parts were in a tool bag that came with the car and I never new what they might be. Does anyone know? The bottom part is stamped The Hill Pump Valve Co. Motor car utility specialties Pat Oct 17, 1911. The other part is stamped 6/11/16 and has four terminals for wire.

The black doomas is the original ignition coil for your Delco distributor. fairly hard to find and you should try it to see if it works. Check a '16-'17 DB wiring diagram. This distributor was wired in such a way as to reverse polarity every time the car was started. It lengthened life of the points. The correct ignition switch only turned to the right . At 12:00 it was off 3:00 it was one polarity 6:00 off, then at 9:00 it was reversed polarity. That's why so many wires.
