Basic Information:  Located 60 miles west of Chicago on the Lincoln Highway, DeKalb has a rich agricultural heritage rooted in the invention and                                                            manufacture of barbed wire and DeKalb Hybrid seed corn.  Home to Northern Illinois University.
Geneva is a charming village 24 miles east of DeKalb and contains the 1905 Fabyan Villa Museum, Fabyan Windmill and 1893 Viking Ship.

Egyptian Theatre – built in 1929, one of seven remaining U.S. Egyptian movie palaces.
Ellwood House Museum – 1879 mansion on 10 acre estate, home of barbed wire maker.
Joseph F. Glidden Homestead & Historical Center – History of Glidden family & barbed wire       
Lincoln Highway mural- one of nine across Illinois Route 30.
Classic Auto Factory – Restoration shop and indoor museum/display of classic cars
Fabyan Villa Museum –prairie style home built 1905, renovated 1907 by Frank Lloyd Wright

Viking Ship –built in 1893 & sailed from Norway to Chicago to World’s Columbian Exposition.
